KEEP COMPOSERS WEIRD – A program for emerging composers held in Austin, TX the “Live Music Capital of the World”
KEEP COMPOSERS WEIRD program provides an opportunity for selected composers from around the world, ages 21+, to submit a newly written work that is to be rehearsed, recorded in a professional studio and performed at a concert in Austin, TX. In addition, for 5-6 days, each composer will participate in lectures, networking events and establish professional relationships with colleagues in the music and arts industry.

The 2018 Keep Composers Weird has just wrapped (updated Jan 22 2018). KCW was officially sponsored by the Austin Creative Alliance, City of Austin Arts Division, Texas Music Office, M.E. Gene Johnson Realtors, Parkside, & Homeslice Pizza. The official composers were Dana Lyn, Kyle Henkel and Adam Zuckerman. Here are some photos that include the live performance at the Blanton Museum of Art, Marc Fort of the Texas Music Office giving certificates that make each composer an honorary Texan, interview at KOOP radio with Kim Simpson, meet and greet with Graham Reynolds, lunch with David Adams of Fast FWD Fest and recording in Cacophony Recorders.
